Pre-Easter holiday fun with ‘Eggstravaganza’
Pre holiday
Though the Saturday weather was forecast to be somewhat stormy, Easter egg hunters in Jacob Myers Park found a mix of sun and cloudy skies that morning, as they combed the grounds for their prizes. A visit with the Easter Bunny was also featured for the local youngsters. Ric McGinnis/The News

Youngsters of all ages were invited to Jacob Myers Park on Saturday morning, March 23 to find what the Easter Bunny had left for them there.

Despite ominous forecasts predicting rain for the day, Riverbank’s Parks and Recreation personnel were determined to hold the event, rain or shine.

Luckily, they didn’t have to do that. The sun shone down on the day’s festivities for participants. What sprinkles there were fell in the afternoon, with heavier rain moving in well after dark.

Parks and Rec staff had scheduled three Easter Egg hunting sessions, set for youngsters age three to five, six to 10 and 11 on up.

Families were directed to drive back to the extended parking area in the west end of the park, and walked from there to the loop end of the walking trail, to search the taller grass across from the dog park area.

Beginning at 10 a.m., there was also a scheduled a photo availability with the Easter Bunny after the hunts were completed.

There was no charge to the public to attend the pre-holiday event.
