Neither the City of Riverbank nor Gilton Solid Waste Disposal will pick up discarded Christmas trees from the gutter this year.
Residents are asked not to place them in the gutter. They should be cut up and put in the grey or green recycling bin provided by Gilton or taken to the dump.
The city has not had any provision for disposing of discarded trees for a couple of years, since former Economic Development Director Tim Ogden and local Boy Scouts cooperated to pick up trees and grind them into mulch for the parks' playgrounds.
