Sheriff’s deputies working with Riverbank Police Services responded to several calls for service last week including DUI’s, traffic collisions, and petty theft.

On Sunday, Dec. 19 at 12:47 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a non-injury accident with an abandoned vehicle at Topeka Street and Callander Avenue. Deputies arrived on scene and conducted their investigation. At the conclusion of their investigation a 41-year-old man was arrested for making a false report.

Deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving in the opposite lane on Sunday at 12:50 a.m. An investigation was conducted, and a 36-year-old man was subsequently arrested for DUI and transported to the Public Safety Center.

At 12:28 p.m. on Sunday, deputies were dispatched to the 5200 block of Equine Court for the report of a fight. After their investigation a man identified as Charles Black, 62, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Public Safety Center.

On Saturday, Dec. 18 at 7:02 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 6200 block of Howard Avenue for a vehicle on the curb. Deputies contacted the 36-year-old male driver and conducted a DUI investigation. The man was arrested for DUI and transported to the Public Safety Center.

On Friday, Dec. 17 at 8 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a verbal dispute near the 6000 block of Central Avenue. A 33-year-old woman was contacted and found to have an outstanding warrant. She was booked at the county jail.

Deputies responded to the report of fight at the 6000 block of Claus Road at 9:45 a.m. on Friday. The victim reported having her vehicle’s tires slashed and having a bottle thrown at her by a subject who then fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 12:30 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a hit and run vehicle collision with no injuries near First Street and High Street.

Deputies responded to the report of a petty theft at a business on Sierra Street on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The investigation is still ongoing.

At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to the report of a stolen wallet at a business in the Crossroads Center.

Deputies responded to the report of a voluntary missing adult from the Mar-Ric care home on Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. The subject was located an hour later and returned safely.

Deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision, property damage only in the 2500 block of River Cove Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 8:20 a.m.

At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to the report of a hit and run vehicle collision with no injuries near the 3000 block of Riverside Drive.
