Folklorico dancers, altars honoring deceased family members and elaborate makeup and colorful costumes will again be seen in the Plaza del Rio in downtown on Friday evening. It’s all part of the annual celebration of Dia de Los Muertos, Day of the Dead. This year’s event will include a Catrin/Catrina contest, altars, food, music, Ballet Folklorico dancers, a kid’s corner, and a showing of the movie Coco, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3. The celebration itself gets underway at 5 p.m. and continues until 9 p.m.; organizers say it is a time to gather, remember and celebrate.
