Stan State Earns Two Top 10 Spots

Stanislaus State continues to provide students and families more “bang for their buck” when it comes to attaining a high-quality and affordable education. Washington Monthly released its annual College Guide and Rankings in which it rates schools on what they do for the country, and Stan State earned spots in the Top 10 on two lists.

 

Golden Valley Health Center Scholarship

Allyssa Walker of Lodi is among five Central Valley recipients of the Golden Valley Health Center Foundation’s annual Flora R. Martinez Nursing Scholarship. Walker received a $5,000 award from this year’s $25,000 scholarship fund.

 

Grant Funds For Computer Science

Stanislaus State and the University of Texas at El Paso have been awarded a $5 million National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to fund scholarships and other support for high-achieving computer science students who have financial need and are focusing on cybersecurity and data science.

 

Honorable Mention

The Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Career Collaborative - an organization of 14 HSIs from across the country, including Stanislaus State as a founding member - received an honorable mention in the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ (NACE) Excellence Awards 2022 in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - College category. The Collaborative was judged on program need/objectives, relevance to the target market, integration, design, medium use, creativity, innovation, measurable outcomes and ease of replication.

For a 17th consecutive year, Stanislaus State has made The Princeton Review’s list of “Best 388 Colleges.” The University earned a spot on the heralded list announced Wednesday, Aug. 17.
