stan state

As the Turlock campus and community get ready for the return of students to Stanislaus State later this month, the college has also announced some recognition and awards for the university.

Stanislaus State was recently honored with a placement on the Princeton Review’s list of the nation’s Top 385 colleges for the 14th straight year. Stan State and UC Merced are the only Central Valley universities to make the list, while Stan State is one of only three CSU schools to be honored in the annual publication.

Also, Stan State has received $678,000 from the College Futures Foundation to support the University’s efforts to align and promote Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) pathways with Modesto Junior College, San Joaquin Delta College and Merced College. This new grant, which will provide $337,000 immediately and $341,000 in July 2020, will support current efforts to increase the number of ADT students and bolster transfer retention and graduation rates.

Fall semester dates include: Sunday, Aug. 18, Move-in Day as students (mostly freshmen) move into campus housing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Monday, Aug. 19, 10 a.m., Freshman Convocation, Fitzpatrick Arena; Monday, Aug. 19, 1:30 p.m., Fall Welcome Address from President Ellen Junn, Snider Recital Hall.

Thursday, Aug. 22 will be the first day of classes for the fall semester.
