A derailment crew was brought in to upright several box cars that slipped off the Sierra Railway tracks along Patterson Road early morning Monday, Feb. 20, directly across from Riverbank High School. The crew brought in equipment to help lift the cars back onto the tracks before another crew came to repair the rails and ties on the right of way. The rail line connects the BNSF yard here with Union Pacific cars in Oakdale. The Sierra line goes through Jamestown, Sonora and all the way to the Fiberboard plant in Standard, east of Sonora. There were no reports of injuries.
