A 25-year-old woman from Tracy, the driver of a vehicle that crashed late Friday night, died of injuries in connection with the accident.

She was identified as Hanna Workman by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

According to the CHP report, Workman was driving a 1998 Nissan Altima eastbound on Highway 4 east of Milton Road in Stanislaus County, shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6. Traveling at an unknown speed, her vehicle went out of control, hit a dirt embankment, went airborne, and the rear of the vehicle came down, colliding with the roadway. The impact caused the rear window to shatter and the driver was ejected out the back window, sustaining fatal injuries.

Authorities said the preliminary indications are that the driver was not properly seat belted in, which resulted in her being ejected. Fire and medical personnel arriving on scene took over patient care but Workman succumbed to her injuries.
