Adult co-ed softball League Set Tuesdays

The Riverbank Recreation Department will conduct a co-ed softball league on Tuesday nights from June 28 through Aug. 30 at Castleberg Park but needs more sign-ups. Team roster forms are available at the Recreation Office at 6707 Third Street. A $275 team registration fee and a $25 National Softball Association fee are due with completed rosters by Friday, June 24. Players must be at least 16 years of age. Women will hit an 11-inch ball while the men hit the Incrediball. For more information, please call 869-7124. The deadline for this league has been extended. So the season may be longer than originally planned.



Story books and story songs

Come and enjoy classic stories like "The Pied Piper," "The Shoe Maker," and "Darby O'Gill and the Little People." Make masks and props, do role-playing, play instruments and sing. This class is for students ages five to 10. Class will run Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Scout Hall at 3017 High Street. The adventure begins June 28 and ends Aug. 3. The time for the class is 1- to 2:30 p.m., with a fee of $60. The class instructor is well-known storyteller and musician Kathleen Fleming. Dog training

Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Come and teach man's best friend how to sit, heel, stay, beg and more. Learn how to cope with animal behavior problems. The class will be conducted at River Cove Park for six weeks beginning Aug. 3. This Wednesday class is six weeks long, and it is restricted to puppies three months of age and older. All dogs must be current on vaccinations. Dog trainer Pam Hartley has been training dogs for more than 20 years. The fee is $70.
