Basketball, Soccer On The Way For Bruin Athletes

The clock moved back, the leaves are beginning to fall, the weather is cooler, so it must be time for winter sports at Riverbank High School.

Basketball and soccer teams have been practicing for the last couple of weeks, with scrimmages beginning this week and next.

 

Lady Bruin Soccer

Riverbank girls soccer will host its first scrimmage on Friday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, with Grace Davis High School coming from Modesto. Game time is 1 p.m. for JV, 3 p.m. for varsity. They’ll host a second scrimmage against Lathrop next Tuesday, Nov. 15, beginning at 4 p.m.

 

Bruin Soccer

At the same time, Riverbank boys soccer teams will be hitting the pitch for the first time, also on Friday, also for a scrimmage but at Davis High School in Modesto in the afternoon. Their first home action will be against Lathrop next Wednesday, Nov. 16, with the JV match at 4 p.m., and the varsity at 5 p.m.

 

Bruin Basketball

Varsity boys basketball has a four-team scrimmage session set for Saturday, Nov. 12, on the home court. They’ll be starting at 10 a.m. They'll be on the road for scrimmages until the Foundation Game, at home against Johansen High School, on Monday, Nov. 28.

 

Lady Bruin Basketball

The girls basketball teams have four scrimmages in a row scheduled for their home court: hosting Oakdale, on Friday, Nov. 18; Turlock on Monday, Nov. 21; Central Catholic on Tuesday, Nov. 22; then Ceres, on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Game times are 4:30 p.m. for JV and 6 p.m. for the varsity girls.
