Bruin Sports Teams Play During Winter Break

School classes may have been on winter break, but boys basketball and soccer play, as well as girls basketball, continued early last week.

Riverbank High classrooms emptied for the calendar year on Friday, Dec. 17, but the non-league sports action continued on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 20-21.

 

Bruin Soccer

RHS soccer players hosted McNair High School from Stockton on Monday, coming out on top, 3-0, with all their scores coming in the second half.

On Thursday, Dec. 23, the Bruins traveled to Chowchilla to defeat the Tribe, 2-1.

Riverbank is scheduled to play next in three straight home matches the first week of January, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Trans-Valley League play will begin on Jan. 5, hosting Ripon High School.

 

Bruin Basketball

Varsity boys basketball continued with non-league play on Monday, Dec. 20, with Waterford coming to town. They went home with a 58-17 loss.

Riverbank traveled to Oakdale the next day, falling 53-49 to the Mustangs.

Wednesday, Dec. 29, the Bruins are scheduled to host Turlock Christian High School, then travel to East Union in Manteca on Thursday to play the Lancers.

 

Lady Bruin Basketball

Riverbank’s varsity girls basketball team hosted Sonora on Tuesday, Dec. 21, taking a 59-42 victory from the Lady Wildcats in non-league play.

They were to host Mariposa on Tuesday, with two home games, and the start of league play, set for next week: Escalon, coming in on Tuesday, Jan. 4, and Ripon High School on Thursday, Jan. 6.
