The bad karma of Friday the 13th, or maybe just the bogeyman of Halloween coming early, but Riverbank’s youth football teams dropped all five of their football games against the Salida Steeler Jags on Saturday, Oct. 14.

It started with the Futures, the 5- and 6-year-olds, going down 26-14, then the Starts, 7- and 8-year-olds, dropped a 39-0 game.

Next, the Rookies, went down to the Salida squad in a 37-7 loss, but the JV came close, losing a one-point contest, 7-6.

The Varsity team was defeated 38-12 in the final game at Gregori High School in Modesto.

All the Jr. Bruin teams return for their final home game this Saturday, Oct. 21, at Riverbank High School.

They’ll take on the Central Valley Jets of Modesto. The Jr. Bruins will end their season on the road, traveling to Lodi’s Grape Bowl to play the Jr. Flames.
