Offers Summer Camps

The Riverbank Recreation Department is seeking sign-ups for an outdoor adventure camp that will be conducted at Jacob Myers Park in two sessions, July 11-15 and July 18-22.

Youth participants will explore, hike, do arts and crafts, play water games, do relays, have a week of outdoor fun. Bring water, sunscreen, snacks and a lunch.

The camp is intended for ages six through 12. The fee is $65 and includes a camp T-shirt. Call 869-7010 for info on this and the following Recreation Department programs.

In another camp activity designed for youth, ages eight to 14, Camp Galaxy is designed to provide a summer blast beginning July 27.

Participants will spend a day of fun at the Galaxy Theatre where they will enjoy a barbecue lunch, games, Galaxy of Stars, water games and more. The fee of $30 for the first child in a family, and $25 for a second child, includes movies, popcorn, drinks, games, prizes, T-shirt and lunch.

Pre-register by July 10 is required.

In another trip-event, teens are encouraged to sign-up for a visit to Paramount Great America in Santa Clara on July 7. The excursion offers a day of riding roller coasters, seeing shows and playing arcade games.

The fee is $55 per person. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend and spending money. Register with the Recreation Department.
