Riverbank High senior Alex Reyes wrapped up his thrilling prep career with a sharp run at the California Interscholastic Federation Division IV State Championships in Fresno at Woodward Park on Saturday, Nov. 28.

With family, friends, teammates and coaches looking on, Reyes sped to a 91st place finish among the state's top 200 D-IV runners, wrapping up the five kilometer course in 17 minutes, 24 seconds.

Reyes was recovering from a sinus infection that hindered his training in the final weeks of the season. He had qualified to state with a sixth place overall finish among the top D-IV harriers at Willow Hill in Folsom two weeks prior.

The standout will be back in action in the spring track and field season, where he will continue his efforts in the 3200, 1600 and 800-meter runs.
