RHS Athletes Recognized For High School Efforts

Riverbank High’s Preston Davidson and Alexa Gutierrez were awarded as Outstanding Senior Athletes by RHS Athletic Director John Bartlett at the Annual Senior Awards, held on Tuesday, May 14. Davidson played both basketball and baseball for the Bruins while Gutierrez participated in volleyball, basketball and track this year.

Riverbank High athletes were among those receiving recognition for their hard work at last week’s Annual Senior Awards. The gathering took place on Tuesday, May 14 at the Ray Fauria Memorial Gymnasium.

The sports awards were presented in addition to the scholarships announced for academic excellence.

Most of the sports recognition was handled by RHS Athletic Director John Bartlett.

He presented the coach’s Athletic Service Award to Nallely Murguia and Nick Certuche.

The Richard Lee Thiel Memorial Awards for Outstanding Sportsmanship were given to Julian Lopez and Jenise Perryman.

Trans-Valley League Scholar Athletes were recognized as Fernando Gonzalez and Jackie Pantoja.

Bartlett also named the RHS Scholars Athletes.

Many of these same athletes were recognized later in the evening with scholarships, as well as their sports awards.
