The Bruins won their first league game against Hughson, at 6-5, on the strength of some heavy hitting during the fourth and fifth innings.

Trailing by 4-1, going into the fourth inning, Bruin batters blasted out three runs and followed with two more in the fifth while Hughson managed only one more run in the fourth.

Riverbank scattered 11 hits to its opponent's nine, although the Bruins also made two errors.
