Riverbank High Spring Sports Comes To A Close

While most Riverbank students are getting ready to put away those school books, RHS athletes are hanging up their spikes, gloves, bats and cleats. The 2019 spring sports season is in the record books.

And while both Track and Field and Tennis teams were competing in section and divisional tournaments, those playing on diamonds were wrapping up their seasons with their final home games, and recognition of senior teammates.


Riverbank senior Michel Valenzuela, 12, usually plays second base, but here, got an opportunity to pitch late in the game last Wednesday, May 8, at home against Escalon. It was the final game of the 2019 softball season, and seniors were recognized by the team and the Bruins Boosters. This year, Valenzuela was the only senior playing softball. Ric McGinnis/The News
