The hallowed halls of Riverbank High School may be quiet during this holiday break, but there’s still a little sports action going on. Here is a look at the recent action for Bruin athletes.

Boys Basketball

Riverbank boys basketball teams worked out in non-league games against Stagg High School of Stockton on Monday, Dec. 23. All three teams fell to the visiting Delta Kings.

The varsity Bruins ended up on the wrong side of a 61-45 score, JV lost by a 67-29 decision, and the frosh boys fell, 64-34.

They were scheduled to travel to Oakdale for more pre-season games on Monday, Dec. 30 after The News went to press. The Bruin hoop teams won’t play again until Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, in Linden, and next Wednesday, Jan. 8, after classes resume, at Hilmar to begin the Trans-Valley League campaign.

Their next home game will be on Friday, Jan. 10, when the Cougars of Escalon come to town.

Lady Bruin Basketball

Riverbank girls were to have played at Beyer High School in Modesto last Monday, Dec. 23, but scores had not been reported.

The Lady Bruins are scheduled to play a non-league game on Jan. 2 in Mt. Diablo, and the next home games for the JV and varsity are set for next Tuesday, Jan. 7, when they host Hilmar for the start of the Trans-Valley League schedule.
