This spring, Manteca will be the site of the inaugural Manteca Senior Games. This event will serve as a feeder tournament for the State Senior Olympics. Seniors 50 and over as of Dec. 31 are welcome to participate in a wide variety of events. The events currently being organized are:
Basketball, Bowling, Golf, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, Dance, Pickleball, Martial Arts and BMX Racing.
The Manteca Convention & Visitors Bureau is currently searching for volunteers, officials, chairpersons, and athletes. If you are interested, contact John Heath, Manteca CVB at (209) 823-7229 or john@visitmanteca.org. Athlete entry forms will be posted on the CVB website in early January.
The actual Senior Games will run from April 25 through 30, 2009.
