Turn the page and spring sports have arrived on the Riverbank High School campus. Some squads started scrimmages already while others were beginning this week or next.
Bruin Baseball
Baseball games started with scrimmages with two contests on the road the week before, and one at home last week. Since it was a scrimmage, when the Vikings of Johansen High in Modesto came to visit on Wednesday, Feb. 23, there were no official scores kept.
The boys had a scrimmage at Mariposa on Friday, Feb. 25, and are scheduled for three straight games at home, against Gustine on Wednesday, March 2; Mariposa on Friday, March 4; and Orestimba next Wednesday, March 9.
Lady Bruin Softball
Their games were to begin on the road this week, at Gregori High School in Salida on Tuesday. March 1, and at Waterford on Thursday, March 3. The Lady Bruins are slated to start action at home on Monday, March 7, hosting Delhi.
Co-Ed Track and Field
Riverbank runners, jumpers and throwers are set to open up at home on March 9, hosting Amador and Big Valley Christian high schools.
Co-Ed Tennis
RHS netters are set to start their season with a home stand on Friday, March 18, hosting Millennium’s Falcons from Tracy.
Bruin Volleyball
Boys volleyball is set to start up March 2, hosting Venture Academy of Stockton. They’re scheduled to travel to Denair on Monday, March 7, then to Ripon Christian on Wednesday, March 9.
Boys Golf
Bruin linksters are getting ready to compete against Escalon at Oakdale Golf & Country Club on Thursday, March 17, then play their only home meet on March 24, at La Contenta Golf Course in Valley Springs.
