Swimmer scores high for Oakdale team

Six-year-old Christian Britton contributed 24 points, the highest boys individual score for his age group on the team, as the Oakdale Swim Team defeated five other teams to win their last meet of the season.

Christian was among several Riverbank residents swimming for the Gators, who scored 982 points. The Manteca Dolphins had 969 points; Tracy Tritons, 795; Hughson Sea Dogs, 776; Ripon Sea Lions, 538; and Ceres Dolphins, 311.

He won the boys 50 yard freestyle in 43.45, and the 25 yard freestyle in 18.82. Britton also placed third in the 25 yard breaststroke in 28.97. He swam the third leg of the mixed 100 yard medley relay and the last lap of the 100 yard freestyle relay, both of which Oakdale won.

Christian sister, Katelin Britton, in the 7- to 8-year-old age group, placed third in the 25 yard freestyle in 17.54, fifth in the girls 50 yard freestyle in 41.71, and sixth in the 25 yard breaststroke in 25.99

Aspen Coons, swimming in the 9-10-year-age group, placed 15th in the 50 yard butterfly in 45.46, 17th in 1:30.07 in the girls 100 yard freestyle, and 22nd in the 50 yard backstroke in 47.77.

Mariah Hiebert, in the girls 7-to 8 age division, placed 25th in the 25 yard breaststroke in 45.15.

Victor Rojas, in the boys 9-10 year age group, placed 26th in the 50 yard breaststroke in 1:03.76.

Alicia Gonzales, competing in the 6-and-under age group, placed 15th in the girls 25 yard freestyle in 29.08
