After posting back-to-back seasons of struggling football teams, this year's version of the Riverbank High Bruins has not fared too badly in the early going. After already accumulating more victories than either squad over the past two seasons - winning two preseason contests - Riverbank is now forced to put a lopsided 41-0 loss to LeGrand High behind them and get ready for an always dangerous Hughson Huskies team. The varsity boys were at home Friday night and closed out the preseason schedule by hosting LeGrand, which brought a number of weapons to the field and took the shutout win.

The Bruins close the books on their 2-3 mark and start with a clean slate. They will open the Trans-Valley League schedule with a trip to Hughson to take on the talented Huskies and their exceptional tailback Aaron Stice. Stice is having a tremendous start to his senior campaign, collecting nearly 700 yards in five games while scoring 11 touchdowns.

Riverbank will not head into TVL play satisfied with its impressive two victories thus far this season.
