The Riverbank cross country squads wasted little time establishing themselves as the new and improved defending league champions as the boys and girls teams each raced to an easy victory in the Trans-Valley League's opening meet held at Tuolumne Regional Park in Modesto.

The Bruins didn't display any signs of slowing up this season, taking four of the top 10 times recorded in the league opener.
