Arrests Made For Public Intoxication And DUI

Riverbank Police Services had several public intoxication and driving under the influence situations over the weekend. Listed below are details on some of the calls they handled during recent shifts.

On Sunday, March 7 in the afternoon, deputies were dispatched to the 6100 block of Crossroads Drive on the report of a vehicle that crashed into a residence and then fled the scene. The driver then crashed into a retaining wall on Novi Drive. Deputies were able to stop the vehicle and learned the driver, a 24-year-old man, was intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and hit and run. There were no injuries during either collision. However, the residence on Crossroads Drive had significant damage.

During the evening on Sunday, deputies were dispatched to a dispute in the 2900 block of Morrill Road. Deputies located a 22-year-old woman and determined she was intoxicated and unable to care for her own safety. She was arrested for public intoxication.

Deputies stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations near Sierra and Second Streets around midnight on March 7. The driver, identified by authorities as Anthony Willform, 30, was arrested after he was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest.

Around noon on Saturday, March 6 traffic units responded to a solo vehicle accident on Oakdale Road approaching Prouty Lane. The vehicle was pulling a trailer which was in poor condition and lost a tire which caused the trailer to become disconnected and hit the southwest retaining wall.

During the evening on Saturday, deputies were working patrol when they observed a vehicle fail to stop for the stop sign at Roselle Avenue and Patterson Road. The driver, a 42-year-old man, was stopped and found to be under the influence. He was arrested for DUI.

Deputies were dispatched to the 3600 block of Castlepark Drive on the report of someone causing a disturbance during the afternoon on Friday, March 5. Deputies located a 33-year-old man and determined he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested for public intoxication.

On Friday evening, deputies were dispatched to the 3900 of Patterson Road on a dispute and, following an investigation, arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the incident.
