The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Oct. 18 through Monday, Oct. 24. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

SUNDAY, OCT. 23

7:49 p.m. – Engine 26 (Riverbank)was dispatched to a person down in the 2100 blk of Patterson Road. On arrival an elderly male was found resting next to his car, he was tired from trying to change his tire. E26’s crew changed it for him.

MST Units conducted large water delivery training.

SATURDAY, OCT. 22

3:07 p.m. – Riverbank Engine 26 responded to a 2-vehicle collision in the 6000 block of Tennessee. One vehicle struck and uprooted a tree, after evaluation, all parties were released against medical advice.

Battalion 5 companies performed multi company drill with a focus on large volume water delivery.

FRIDAY, OCT. 21

Oakdale Engine 28 visited the House of Tykes preschool for a public education event.

E28 conducted training focusing on ladders.

THURSDAY, OCT. 20

1:44 a.m. – Grass 29, BC5 and CalFire TCU responded to a reported vegetation fire on Highway 120 east of Knights Ferry. Grass 29 arrived to find an eighth of an acre with a slow rate of spread. The fire was quickly contained.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 19

8:43 a.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27, Engine 26 and BC5 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Valley Home Road. Engine 28 arrived to find a single vehicle vs. tree with one patient trapped inside the vehicle. The patient was extricated from the vehicle and flown from the scene via air-ambulance to a local emergency room. Engine 29 provided coverage for Fire Station 28. CHP investigating.

TUESDAY, OCT. 18

Engine 26 trained on master streams in prep for the 7-month test.
