Pot Plants Seized; Arrests Made

Riverbank Police arrested two men late afternoon on Wednesday, July 16 after serving a search warrant at a local home.

Riverbank Police Service Detectives Jesse Tovar and Eric Torres, along with other deputies and three Probation Officers from the Stanislaus County Probation Department, served a search warrant at a residence in the 3000 block of Claribel Road. There were 692 marijuana plants seized at the location and two suspects arrested in connection with the drugs. Those arrested were identified by police as Sinsinh Bounprakorp, 43, out of Modesto and Carmine Chhay, 26, from Fresno.

There were no other drugs, cash, or weapons found.

Chhay is still in custody at the Stanislaus County Jail with a $25,000 bail pending a further court appearance on Thursday, July 24. Charges against him included cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. Bounprakorp was jailed with a bail of $75,000 on one charge and another charge with no bail; his counts included cultivation, transportation of marijuana for sale and an ammunition related charge. He also in custody until his court appearance on July 24.
