Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department deputies conducted a DUI checkpoint on Claribel Road and also handled a number of calls for service during the week, including several catalytic converter thefts. From 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. on Saturday, the  Sheriff’s Department conducted the DUI checkpoint on Claribel Road, westbound, between Oakdale Road and Squire Wells Way. A total of 742 vehicles passed through the checkpoint with one DUI arrest and several citations issued.

On Monday, Oct. 31 at 3:12 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of Royal Links Drive on a report of a subject who brandished a firearm. After a short standoff, Gilles Bourgeois, 38, was arrested for terrorist threats and brandishing a firearm.

At 8:06 a.m. on Monday, deputies were dispatched to the 3600 block of Kansas Avenue on a theft of a catalytic converter.

On Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1:06 a.m., deputies conducted a vehicle stop and the driver was arrested for DUI.

At 7:21 a.m. on Sunday, deputies were dispatched to the 3300 block of Atchison Street on a theft of a vacuum from the vehicle car wash.

During the afternoon on Sunday at 1:36 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of Royal Links Drive on a theft of a catalytic converter.

At 2:53 p.m. on Sunday, deputies were dispatched to the 6300 block of Terminal Avenue on a theft of catalytic converters from three vehicles from the same victim.

Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of First Street and Atchison Street on a subject passed out in the driver seat of their vehicle on Sunday at 4:37 p.m. A 39-year-old was found to be driving under the influence and arrested for DUI.

On Saturday, Oct. 29 at 4:54 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 3800 block of Stanislaus Street on a theft of catalytic converter.

At 9:54 a.m. on Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the 2700 block of Stanislaus Street on a theft of a utility trailer.

Deputies were dispatched to the 6500 block of Bowing Court on an assault on Saturday at 11:54 a.m. Deputies determined that a civil dispute turned into a physical altercation when the 54-year-old suspect assaulted the victim with closed fists. The man was cited for the assault and the victim left the area.

On Saturday at 2:47 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Galaxy Theatre on a vandalism that had occurred the night before. The manager advised an unknown subject was kicked out and became upset and kicked out one of the windows.

At 3:42 p.m. on Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Patterson Road and Oakdale Road on a property damage vehicle accident.

On Saturday night at 9:27 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 2200 block of Claribel Road on a property damage vehicle accident.

Deputies conducted a vehicle stop at the DUI checkpoint and determined a 49-year-old man had an active outstanding warrant for his arrest on Saturday at 11:30 p.m.

On Friday, Oct. 28 at 11:11 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Terminal Avenue and Patterson Road on a property damage only vehicle accident.

At 12:58 p.m. on Friday, deputies were dispatched to the Home Depot on a theft of a pressure washer.

During the evening on Friday at 7:56 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 3300 block of Santa Fe Street on a property damage only hit and run involving two vehicles. The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Roselle Avenue and Minniear Avenue on a collision with injuries on Friday at 9:35 p.m. Jered Huntington, 49, was arrested for DUI and transported to the county jail without incident.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 10:53 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Famous Footwear on a theft of shoes.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 12:50 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a security check at the intersection of Patterson Road and Oakdale Road. They made contact with the reporting party who had an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and a loaded firearm on the passenger seat. The 29-year-old man was cited and released for the open container and possession of the firearm.

Deputies were dispatched to the front of Jamba Juice on a physical fight between two male subjects after a minor vehicle collision on Tuesday at 6:31 p.m. During the struggle, one of the subjects dropped his legally concealed firearm. The firearm was returned to the owner and both subjects wanted charges pressed against the other for assault.

At 10:23 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies observed a vehicle driving erratically at Patterson Road and Callander Avenue. A 46-year-old man was found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and booked at the county jail.

On Monday, Oct. 24 at 12:52 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 5500 block of Greenoaks Drive on reports of gunfire. A 37-year-old woman was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm in her back yard.

At 8:22 a.m. on Monday, deputies were dispatched to the Countryside Construction site where two hydraulic actuators were taken off a forklift, over the weekend.

Deputies were dispatched to the 6600 block of Oakdale Road on a theft of a safe and theft of motor vehicle on Monday at 12:38 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
