Evening shopping on the streets of downtown Riverbank has returned once again, with the Night Market starting up its months long run this past Saturday.

May 3 was the beginning of this season’s market, which is scheduled to continue through October this year. They only hitch is, it’s now set to run every other week, which means it won’t be happening again until Saturday, May 17.

The event over the weekend featured several food trucks, as well as a number of food booths, crafts vendors and community information booths. And there were several areas for activities for local youngsters to enjoy. There was also a booth featuring a string band duo, playing a stand up bass and an electric guitar.

And this year, the booths stretch only one block, on both sides of Third Street, between Topeka and Santa Fe. That’s the block in front of City Hall North and Plaza del Rio Park.
