Hernandez Poised To Capture Council Seat
election

Unofficial results from the Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters office show challenger Rachel Hernandez on a clear path to the Riverbank City Council. She would take over the District 2 seat held by Cindy Fosi, as Hernandez had polled roughly 69 percent of the ballots cast compared to 31 percent for the incumbent Fosi.

Meanwhile, Captain Buck Condit was looking like the winner against Bill Zoslocki in the race for the District 1 Stanislaus County Supervisor seat, being vacated by Kristin Olsen, which includes Oakdale and Riverbank. Condit polled 16,536 votes to the 12,201 for Zoslocki.

Assemblyman Heath Flora had strong support in Stanislaus County in his bid for re-election in the 12th District over challenger Paul Akinjo, receiving about 58 percent of the vote, as did Congressman Josh Harder in the 10th Congressional District race against challenger Ted Howze. Harder had about 58 percent of the vote compared to 42 percent for Howze.

Both Flora’s and Harder’s districts are shared with San Joaquin County.

A full recap of the local election will be included in the Nov. 11 issue of The News.
