Kids of all ages are encouraged to attend the formal kickoff for the Oakdale Library’s annual Summer Reading Challenge.
The challenge is underway and the kickoff celebration is scheduled for Thursday, June 11 at 11 a.m.
The library is at 151 S. First Ave., Oakdale. Children are invited to learn about kinetic energy, Emperor Nero, and freezing points while making ice cream as part of the kickoff fun. All ages can learn about the Summer Reading Challenge and upcoming summer events at the library at this event as well.
The Oakdale Family Resource Center will be there to provide yard games, information, as well as free lunches and books for kids. The celebration is designed for ages 5 and up. Space and supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Thursday’s event is sponsored by Friends of the Oakdale Library and The Oakdale Center for Human Services.
