Blood In Short Supply
Red Cross

A blood shortage could mean the difference between life or death. Every donation might be the one that saves a life.

As the hot summer months continue and people are busy with vacations and family, the American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage. The situation is critical. Patients that need help are counting on donors to make time this summer and donate, insuring there is enough blood supply to meet needs in the region.

Upcoming opportunities to give blood in the local area include:

Jack’s Pizza Café, 2001 McHenry Ave., Modesto, Thursday, July 22, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Oakdale Fire Station #28, 325 E.G St., Oakdale, Wednesday, Aug. 2 from noon to 6 p.m.

Modesto Blood Donation Center, 1900 W. Orangeburg Ave., Modesto, open varying hours throughout the week.

Suburban Propane, national sponsor of the American Red Cross, encourages all eligible residents to donate blood this summer.
