Riverbank Police Services (RPS) hosted a fundraiser at Cool Hand Luke’s this past week for the annual “Shop with a Cop” event that will be held in December. Chief Ed Ridenour expressed that the fundraiser was great and well attended. Guests purchased a dinner ticket and last Tuesday they picked up their takeout order or dined in. Ridenour, along with the RPS community deputy, and traffic deputies greeted the guests as they arrived.

“Everyone seemed very happy to see us and very supportive of the program,” said Ridenour. “The meal was great as always; we plan to hold the same event next year.”

The Shop with a Cop program is staged annually and has assisted families in need during the holiday season for over 10 years. Through funds raised for the event, RPS is able to continue the program and take about 30 children on a shopping spree for essentials and treat families to a holiday party, adding some joy to the holiday season.
