Officials at City Hall in Riverbank have announced an extension to the deadline to enter both the annual Christmas Parade and also the Craft Faire that precedes it on Thanksgiving weekend downtown.
Entry forms for both events will be accepted at City Hall, either North or South office, until 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14. Postmarks will be accepted, as will forms left in the overnight drop-off at City Hall South, according to organizers.
Those with questions should call 869-7128. It should be noted that City Hall will be closed every Friday this month.
The Christmas Craft Faire is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 26 at Plaza del Rio Park and on Third Street, in front of City Hall North.
It will run from noon to 8 p.m., with a variety of vendor booths set up and live entertainment scheduled on stage throughout the event.
According to officials, the Christmas Parade, now celebrating its 48th year, will begin at 5:30 p.m., forming near the Community Center. The route will come down Santa Fe Street to Second, turn south, then turn onto Stanislaus Street to return to disband at the Center.
Following the parade, Santa will conduct the official community tree lighting, then he and Mrs. Claus will visit with local youngsters, hearing their holiday wishes.
Parade judging results will be announced when compiled, according to officials.
