Calling all artists, builders, creators, designers, engineers, inventors, makers and tinkerers: Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) will hold its first ever “Maker Hoopla” in Modesto this May and is currently seeking submissions to exhibit from the community. Would-be exhibitors are encouraged to design an exhibit that is interactive, exciting, hands-on, and appropriate for students in grades K-6. Students can also apply to exhibit (as long as there will be an adult sponsor present). Any adults can submit to exhibit as well.

Exhibitor submissions are due Feb. 15, 2017. The link to the submission application is: https://goo.gl/7cCkTH. For more information call or email Amy Zschaber, (209) 238-1337 or azschaber@stancoe.org.

SCOE’s Maker Hoopla is a free, hands-on, family friendly event for elementary grade students to “learn through doing” in a social environment. It will include activities encouraging students to create and explore.

“The goal of the event is to expose elementary grade students to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) learning and to expand student capacity, interest, and excitement for building, constructing, creating, designing, exploring, and inventing,” said event organizer Amy Zschaber.
