In an effort to make sure everyone gets a chance to enjoy a present this Christmas season, some local businesses in the Crossroads Shopping Center and surrounding area will be collecting new toys in a Holiday Toy Drive from now until Saturday, Dec. 17.

Toys for children of all ages can be dropped off at 1985 Gallery or La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant in the Crossroads, as well as La Parrilla locations on McHenry Avenue in McHenry Village and on Oakdale Road. Along with those drop off locations, businesses assisting with the drive include Bruce’s Barbershop on Atchison Street, Brittany Alexander and World’s Famous Legends in Ceres.

The effort will culminate in a special event when the business owners will endeavor to “Give Back” to the community with activities scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Among the offerings will be photos with Santa, kids activities, free haircuts for the kids, food and drink, raffle giveaways, a photo booth by Ro-Sham-Bo and the toy distribution. 1985 Gallery at 2329 Claribel Road will be the location for the Dec. 17 festivities.
