Leadership Students Participate In Managing Your Life Day
Stan Co Office of Ed

Students participating in the Stanislaus County Leadership Academy will meet on Friday, May 4 for Managing Your Life Day.

Entrepreneur Dan Costa will kick off the day by sharing his successes and challenges. Behavioral Health and Recovery Services will share the dangers of alcohol and marijuana use followed by a presentation from The Superior Court of California in Stanislaus County to inform students about how the laws change for them when they turn 18 years old. With recent changes in the laws, it is important for students to understand the possible impacts these laws may have in their life.

The students will finish the day by participating in a team building activity at The Escape Room in downtown Modesto.

Stanislaus County Office of Education’s Prevention Programs Department oversees the Leadership Academy Program. Students representing schools throughout the county meet one day each month throughout the school year. They learn about emerging community issues, are provided opportunities to expand their knowledge of academics and work ethics, and gain an awareness of local career availability. One of the goals of Leadership Academy is to raise awareness of careers available locally to students after they graduate from college or trade school.
