The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department has received a grant from the California State Department of Health “Kid Plates” of 300 children sized life jackets. With the assistance of Safe Kids Stanislaus County a water safety education course will be provided, and life jackets will be given away to children under 18 years of age from low-income families.
The event will be held at Woodward Reservoir at the life jacket loaner station located at Office Point from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 23. The life vests will be given away on a first come first served basis, and sizes are limited. Woodward Reservoir is at 14528 26-Mile Road in Oakdale.
