LIGHT THE NIGHT
fireworks riv

Every direction one could look last week, vast arrays of fireworks could be seen in some Riverbank neighborhoods. Many, but not all, residents seemed to be favoring the illegal, airborne celebration of the July 4th holiday. There were some neighbors lighting off, and enjoying, the ‘safe and sane’ legal version of the fun, as shown here. In some cases, the ground based explosions could be seen at the end of a block while at the same time a massive display showed up in the sky above a house there at the end of the street. The noisy, airborne fireworks could be heard and seen before sundown, and continued in many areas until well past 1 a.m.
