MJC Offers Screening Of The White Helmets

The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project (CEP) invites the community to a free screening of the documentary film The White Helmets on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. in Forum 110 on MJC’s East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. The event is part of the CEP Fall Film and Lecture Series. Campus parking is available for $2 in student parking lots.

Winner of the Academy Award for best short-subject documentary in 2016, this film follows a group of volunteer rescue workers of the Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the White Helmets, as they risk their lives in their efforts to save victims trapped in the rubble caused by military airstrikes.

There is an opportunity for questions and answers following the film.
