‘Pride and Prejudice’ is the next production of the summer, coming up at Hutton’s Hamlet in Oakdale. Showtimes are Friday, June 22 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the show, adapted from the Jane Austen novel. When a wealthy bachelor moves into the neighborhood, Mr. and Mrs. Bennett are overjoyed because they have five unmarried daughters who they are eager to see married. The show is described as delightfully witty. Hutton’s Hamlet Performing Arts Center is at 132 W. G St., Oakdale.

Free summer meals for kids and teenagers 18 years old and younger are available through local schools. Breakfast is served at California Avenue Elementary School from through June 28 from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Riverbank High School will host breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1:15 p.m. through July 12. They will be closed on July 4. The meals will be served Monday through Thursday and are provided by the Riverbank Unified School District.

A stop in Riverbank is planned later for Thursday, June 21 through the office of U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock), with Mobile District Office (MDO) hours set for June. The MDO is where 10th district residents can get help with specific casework or ask questions. The MDO is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Riverbank City Hall, 6707 Third St., Riverbank. MDOs are hosted by staff and, when possible, by Rep. Denham. Staff members are available to assist 10th district residents with casework on matters including Medicare, Veteran’s Affairs, Social Security, the Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies.

A free class in basic foot care is scheduled for Thursday, June 21 at 7 p.m.; offered at 1455 E. G St., Suite D, Oakdale. Best of 209 winner in Foot Care, Paula Edwardsen MNT, at Advanced Nail Technology, will be offering this free class in basic foot care and how to pick a safe nail spa/salon. Edwardsen, leading state specialist, will be speaking at the class. Call 209-284-7350 to make a reservation for the Thursday evening class.

Join in with the Riverbank Library Book Club as it meets on Tuesday, June 26 at 4 p.m. to discuss Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. The Riverbank Library is at 3442 Santa Fe St.; for more information, contact Library supervisor Victoria Holt at 209-869-7008.

All are invited to the weekly meetings of TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly, 1034 that gathers each Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 1480 Poplar Ave., Oakdale. The local REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club gathers for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, June 27. Golden Agers weekly dances are open to those 50 and older from throughout the Central Valley at the Riverbank Community Center. Doors open Wednesdays at 9 a.m.; the center is at 3600 Santa Fe St., and first time guests are admitted free. The annual membership fee is $12 and each Wednesday members pay $5 and non-members can enjoy a few hours of music and dancing for $6.
