To wrap up a month full of reading activities throughout the community for Read Across Riverbank, the After School Program hosted a Reader’s Theater at California Avenue on Thursday, March 24. Students from Riverbank Language Academy, Mesa Verde Elementary, and California Avenue hit the stage for the final push to promote reading among local youngsters. The month kicked off with an observance of the birthday of famed children’s author Dr. Seuss and continued with guest readers visiting schools, children earning prizes for their reading efforts and kids learning about the joys of picking up a book for pleasure.
