RHS Boosters Group Hosts Fundraising Portable Dinner
RHS

One of many fundraisers over the school year was hosted on Monday, Oct. 16 at Riverbank High School. The Bruins Boosters had sold tri-tip dinners for families of four and had them ready for a drive-through pickup outside the Culinary Arts classrooms on campus that evening.

The Boosters, mostly parents of current or former athletes, use the events like this one to raise the money they use to provide scholarships to student athletes at the end of each year. They also staff the snack bar at volleyball, football and basketball games, as well as for track meets, and they sometimes cart goodies to sell over to spectators at the baseball and softball fields.

Another use for the money the Boosters earn is helping provide uniforms and other equipment for sports teams on campus.

Past president Kimi Jennings helped organize the recent effort, which provided a tri-tip dinner for four, with potato, corn and rolls. Jennings has a son who is an RHS graduate, and she is an alumnus as well, with several youngsters on their way toward high school.
