In addition to those wacky denizens of ‘Wonderland,’ Alice’s crew, and those spectators who chose to travel with her, tiptoed through a specially designed Haunted House, constructed entirely in the Black Box Theatre of Riverbank High School last week.
The two-day event was created, produced, built and acted by members of the RHS Drama Department, with scares enough for everyone. The spectacle was staged on Thursday and Friday of last week, Oct. 19 and 20.
The players spent a good deal of time and effort prior to the show, working to get their makeup and costumes just right. The sets had been built in the weeks before the show.
Because of the performing effort involved, several of the key characters were portrayed by two students, in shifts.
This wasn’t the only Halloween event to be scheduled in Riverbank this season. The popular Haunted Hay Ride in Jacob Myers Park is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, beginning at 7 p.m.
