State Theatre Hosts Screening

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Stanislaus Family Justice Center along with Haven Women’s Center, the Stanislaus Office of Education, the Stanislaus Commission on Women and CSU Stanislaus invite the public to a free movie event at The State Theatre. There will be a panel discussion following the film Sleeping With The Enemy, with the screening set for Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.

Sleeping With The Enemy is rated R and runs one hour, 39 minutes. In this thriller, a woman (Julia Roberts) caught in an abusive marriage attempts to escape her obsessive, violent husband (Patrick Bergin) by faking a watery death. She travels to a small Southern town and takes on a new identity, only to find out that her husband has discovered her deception.

Admission is free. The State Theatre is at 1307 J St., Modesto.
