A home for sale on High Street, off First, in Riverbank was gutted by flames, with two fires at the location in the last week. The first call came on Oct. 30; the second call on Oct. 31 at 4:17 a.m., with both Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District crews and Modesto Fire Department dispatched to the scene. Arriving on the scene about 4:23 a.m. Tuesday, Engine 26 reported the residence as fully involved with fire, with another residence threatened, according to district officials. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the occupied residence but the vacant, for sale home was described as a total loss. The cause remains under investigation.
