Donations are being collected in Riverbank now for the holiday season’s Toys For Tots campaign, organizers say, to be distributed in the middle of December.

The toys can be put in donation boxes at the following locations: Riverbank Language Academy, CASA del Rio, California Avenue School, Mesa Verde Elementary, Cardozo Middle School, Riverbank High School, the School District Office, TSW Financial, City of Riverbank, New Life Community Church and the Riverbank Library Branch.

Officials say the program will be giving away the toys this holiday for children up to 12 years of age in low-income families in Riverbank.

Families can register by calling CASA del Rio at 209-869-0468 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Families in Riverbank can register for the program until Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Distribution is set to occur on Saturday, Dec. 16 at Cardozo Middle School’s cafeteria, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

To register and to pick up the toys, participants must be residents of Riverbank with guardianship of the child. Officials note that toys will only be released to the party who registered, with proof of residence (ID or Utility Bill).

The holiday giveaway is hosted in collaboration with Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots, Riverbank Unified School District/CASA del Rio FRC, Central Valley Community Resources, Valley Improvement Projects and the community.
