Since the Christmas holidays are just around the corner, members of the Riverbank Federated Women’s Club have begun organizing their annual Holiday Luncheon.

Set for Saturday, Dec. 3, the festive affair will see doors open at 11 a.m. at the Riverbank Community Center, with lunch beginning at noon, according to Marie Shubin.

“To make this event a success,” Shubin said, “the club is enlisting friends, neighbors and local organizations to decorate luncheon tables in holiday themes.”

She said guests will enjoy a wonderful meal provided by the local Arnold’s Catering, with desserts by SaveMart. This year’s event will feature entertainment by the Riverbank High School Music Department, under the direction of Jesse Aguilar.

Shubin said the club couldn’t put on the fundraising activity without help from the community.

She said this year’s sponsors include Saputo Cheese, Cicciarelli Farms and E & J Gallo.

“Amazing door prizes have been contributed by local merchants O’Brien’s Market, Morris Nursery, Landon’s Menswear, Pizza Plus, Rodin Farms and Designs by Karen,” she said.

The project raises funds for the Women’s Club Scholarship Fund, with attendees also encouraged to contribute non-perishable foods that will donated to Riverbank Christian Food Sharing, according to Shubin. She said they provide meals to Riverbank residents in need throughout the year.
