Manic Monday, Detours Ahead
work

Some motorists along Highway 108 were singing the Monday blues this past Monday morning, Oct. 21, sitting in their vehicles idling as they waited for their turn to proceed. The traffic tie-up was due to the highway becoming one lane with traffic control as Caltrans crews grinded asphalt in the area.

Road work is being done on a stretch of Highway 108 near La Perla Tapatia and continuing east along the highway to just past Mesa Drive between Riverbank and Oakdale. Commuters were backed up Monday as they were trying to make their way through both ways and found themselves having to patiently wait as the one-lane traffic control switched from side to side.

Other road work in the area to watch out for will be on Wednesday, Oct. 23 until Wednesday, Nov.13 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Claus Road will be closed between Santa Fe Street and Sierra Street during this time. Detour signs will be in place.
