Irvin "Irv" A. Wisenor, 91, of Riverbank died Wednesday, July 29 following a short illness.

He was a Riverbank businessman and 63-year resident.

After serving in the army during World War II, he moved to Riverbank in 1946 where he and his wife established and operated Wisenor's Hardware for over 30 years. He also owned the Magic Wand Car Wash in Riverbank and Escalon.

Mr. Wisenor was devoted to his community and served for 24 years with the Riverbank Volunteer Fire Department as a lieutenant. He was also a member of the Riverbank Lion's Club, Modesto Elks Lodge #1282, Sons in Retirement, and California Striped Bass Association.

In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandfather he was an avid fisherman and garage sale hunter.

Survivors include his two children, Jerry (Laurel) Wisenor of Lodi and Karen (Duane) Hensley of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Jodie Richardson, Randall Hensley, Lain Hensley, Tad Wisenor, Kent Wisenor; and 13 great-grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as "Pocky."

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ruby Wisenor; great-grandson, Cody Richardson of Modesto; and dear friend, Pete Limper.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14 at the United Methodist Church of Riverbank on Third Street. All who knew him are invited to join in celebrating this great man's life.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Modesto Community Hospice at 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
