Riverbank High School captured the Small School Overall Award at the 37th Annual Stanislaus County Occupational Olympics and Career Exposition at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. Approximately 750 students from Stanislaus County high schools participated in 16 competitive events at the Thursday, March 2 exposition and RHS was the top award winner in the small school division. In addition to the competitive events, 45 business/industry representatives exhibited and spoke to students during the Career Expo.
Casey Robinson took second place in the Ag Engineering Building Trades competition while Melina Barajas was second in the Salad Preparation and Display competition.
Combining to bring home a third place award in the Video Game Design category was the trio of Esteban Verdin, Jose Arellano and Darien Parshall.
The event was hosted by the Stanislaus County Office of Education.
Neighboring Oakdale High School also had a very successful day, as they claimed the Large School Overall Award.
